SYNOPSIS: Shakespeare's classic text takes a "dark comedy" turn in this adaptation where we hear what Romeo & Juliet might say as they encounter the issues of civil unrest, domestic upheaval, and the potential snares of police activity, and Shakespeare's intended outcome of examining the effect of the divisions and unrest on the young people in a community. Shakespeare's text is quite funny, until it's not. Renaissance Now studies this complex and relevant classical work through the modern lens.

GENRE: Theatre
