Great Salt Lake Fringe 2016 Dates Announced
The Great Salt Lake Fringe team announced their 2016 dates and application timeline at a “Fringe Function” on Friday, November 20 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. The Function was hosted by Pygmalion Productions, who graciously allowed GSLF to use the Black Box after their production of Buyer and Cellar.
The second annual Fringe will take place over two weekends from Friday, July 29 to Sunday, August 7, 2016. Fringe shows will run every day except Monday, August 1 and Tuesday, August 2.
The application for performing artists will open online at www.greatsaltlakefringe.org/apply on February 1, 2016. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with the first 50 artists to apply to receive placement in the Fringe. Any applications after the first 50 will be placed on a waitlist and may be scheduled in the Festival in the event that a slot becomes available.
Attendees at Friday’s event included Fringe staff and board members, previous performers, and Fringe hopefuls. Artists shared ideas, asked questions for the Fringe staff, and brainstormed for their 2016 Fringe plans. The Fringe team loved seeing friends both old and new, and can’t wait to see what our fantastic artists have in store for the 2016 Festival!
